Default IC Before you Condemn it after Soldering...

Instrument Cluster: I have found that the sockets (Square sockets) for the gauge pins (Round PINS) (Gauges SPEEDO, TEMP, FUEL) may stretch so close the box ends up and you may have a fix for your intermittant gauges.

On the circuit board for the ic where the gauge pins slide in there are little "prongs" that make a square contact on the pins. squeeze those together a little tighter to make a better connection. Also you have the two connectors that plug into your dash. in order to fix those you need to remove the circuit board itself from the cluster and flip it over to expose the back of those two plugs. Its a good idea to re-solder those pins while you have it out because the solder tends to crack, (you have to look really close to see this). That should fix your problems.
