Default Question about Ghettoblaster/EGR heat????

So my GB is made with pvc pipe for the plenum and JB weld. I heard the car runs like crap, or has bad mileage without the EGR and I don't want a CEL, nor can I have it for inspection. So the question is, will the pvc and JB be able to handle to heat or what can I do to remove the EGR/CEL and still run fine?

Removing the egr will not make the car run different unless you do it wrong. For the ecu not to throw a code you will need to use a resistor, or use a mopar/afx ecu which doesnt throw cel's for the egr. (as far as I know) -I used a pop can, a quarter and a nickel to block my egr.

I put a quarter in to test when I was fitting my GB but something was rattling, doubt it was the quarter (I also now have a leak at the EGR tube cause I stripped the threads).

Where would I get the proper resistor(stock pcm)?
Does it just go in between the EGR plug wires?
Where would the nickel go?
Also, whats the pop can for?

The idle was around 1700 though so I have to figure out where it was leaking before I put the GB back on.

Radio shack, modernperformance.com
The resistor, yes.
Quarter on the head, then mount the egr back over it. Gasket seal both sides.
On the intake side
Pop can I cut up and made a gasket (actually bud light can) same thing.
Sounds like you have a manifold, or vacuum leak.

I made blockoff plates w/ spare sheetmetal lying around the shop and some sylicone to block off at the head and intake...not the quarter, nickel, whatever...4 yrs, hasn't thrown a code or leaked.

My head is a 95 so I had to drill the hole myself since the harness/pcm/car is a 98. I've had the EGR code come up before just from the one prong being broken, and another for the hose being clogged or something so I'm not sure how you [sabin] don't have a problem..Do you still have the vac lines connected to the EGR/solenoid or something?

And ok, do you know what type of Resistor I need exactly, theres a radioshack 30 sec's from my house so I can go get it when you let me know.

No idea on the resistor. If you have metal working tools, make something better then the quarter and nickel. You can also buy egr block off kits already made also. Where did you drill a hole? In ur intake manifold?

No into the #4 exhaust on the head. The egr works fine with my stock manifold. The 2nd gens at the JY have block offs so I'll just grab one of those once I find a resistor. I take it the vac lines just get plugged(I could just use the single output on the manifold)..?

listen if you remove the egr you can leave the solinoid that operates the egr valve and you wont get the CEL light thats what i did it makes it think its there but its not. better then the resitor in my opioun, because you dont have to find the right size resitor blAH BLAH yah no i did the same think for my evap purge i left the solinoid on that to make it think it was there. i need the room so i removed most of my emision devices you dont need them only for inspeaction and i pay sum one every 2 years to slap a sticker on mine. iv got cnc machined egr block off kits i made out of 1/4 inch stainless steel 25$ for any one that wants one
