The seal is being replaced with the head on. I'm going to do this and if it doesn't help then I will just be done with that engine. What I was planning down the road was a 2.4 Build, but I wouldn't want to get a used one and just put it in, I'd want a rebuild, mods, maybe turbo..the car's driven fine for months now, only issue is having to put oil in.

Just a question, can the oil expander rings malfunctioning cause excess oil to lbe the cylinder, causing a leak such as this?

Damn, then I wish I could've remembered if I ever got the expanders on correct, cause they were giving me trouble.

VERY good possibility of a broken ring land on that piston.

Find a dohc block at the yard, and have that cleaned along with new rods and bearing. You should be fine with that until you go 2.4L.

What was the woman in the backround of the vid going on about?[/offtopic]

That was the TV, or your hearing voices lol.

Given my financial situation(making s--t for money and oweing the next few paychecks to DMV and such lol) it would cost too much to get the DOHC and clean it up for a temp as the 2.4 was a plan in the next few months. Honestly I'm just going to drive the SOHC till she blows up, its lasted 3 months and drives like a champ, just sometimes has a knocking sound which could be internal, valve, piston slap.... Needs an oil change too, the filter is 3 months old.

Engines from the JY are about 110 pulling, or 185 pulled so there dirt cheap and I can see fixing her up for 500 or less with some modding.

If I had a house(I live in an apartment and already got s--t for putting the engine in) and/or garage with friends to drive me around I'd be in a different situation but I'm kinda stuck here.
