Default Cigarette Lighter

My 96 Neon has a cigarette lighter that doesn't work. Where can I get a non-expensive replacement part? I searched ebay but didn't find much except just the plugs. I need the holding piece as well.

nope don't waste ur time going to parts stores... i had this problem when i bought my car. go to the dealer and tell them u need the shell for the cigarette lighter.. they will have to order it because i doubt they will have it in stock but it should only cost like $8.. thats what makes it throw the fuse.

I usually hate telling people to goto the dealer cause they are so expensive, but $8 isn't too bad.

Ciagarette lighters are all the same, should just be a matter of getting one the right size for the hole in the dash and wiring it. Allthough $8 from the dealer is the way I would go.

yeh thats what i thought..... but like i found out with my speakers.... dodge puts special adapters on EVERY THING..... usually u can just buy a new shell in the help section but because on a neon it has that adapter you can only get it from a dealer.

Put your hand under the ciggerete lighter. There is a whole in the panel. If you feel around and check the power connection to the lighter may be disconected. That happened to me and i went under and reconnected it and the problem was fixed.
