Harmonic Balancer Puller & Crank Pulley Tool?
Ok - Where can I get a Harmonic Balancer Puller for a 96 Dodge Neon DOHC?
I have tried all of the AutoParts store and the local Dodge Dealer as well as Mac Tools and Snap On Tools Web Sites!
No one seems to have this tool and I desperately needed it last night - I have missed my chance to go racing this weekend!
The Universal ones from the parts store won't fit - they are too big - can not use the Clamp style - it must have the 6mm bolts to attach to the front of the HB.
The Local Dodge Dealer wants over 100 Bucks for one New!

Actually the tool I am looking for is to pull the Timing Belt Pulley off the Crank!
I just got lucky and a dealer on the other side of town sold me one for just over 20 Bucks!
But I will still need to invest in a puller that will yank the Timing Belt Pulley off the Crank - any helpwould be appreciated

I have tried the universal Puller Kits from Harbor Freight, AutoZone, and Advance. all of those kits are for big block engines like V8's.
The bolt size for the Neon is an 8 metric and takes some really long screws! Plus the Universal kits will bend the screws out ward because the center block part of the tool is not narrow enough for the Neon Crank Pulley.
Not to mention the 3 trips to Home Depot to get screws for it because I kept snapping the bolts Heads off!
I left a voicemail for my local snap on guy - see if it is in the catalog since I could not find it on the web.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

Snap-On and Miller Special Tools both carry the correct part for the timing belt gear on the crank. For the accessory pully, a 3-jaw 5-ton gear puller is all you need, and readily available for purchase or rent from Autozone.
Best of luck!

Hi Casper - the one I got from the parts store and the one I got from Harbor Freight had the holes in all of the fingers ( fingers in lack of better terms) where spread out too far and the bolts that came with those kits were all way to big - I had to make several trips to Home Depot to pick up bolts and washers to make it fit - and of course snap a few bolts and bend a few washers.

Thanks Radarlove - Just the info I needed - did a google search on Miller Special tools and found Chrysler Crankshaft Pulley Puller/Installer SP92100 - Just what I needed - unfortunately it is not cheap! $63.99 - alot of mulla for something that will occasionally be used!
I am going to keep shopping and hope I can find one cheaper.

i definately advise against trying to use universal pullers.. as youve found out they dont always work too well (sure, ive used em before and they worked, but ive also had them break more than work correctly as well)
