it depends on how big of a cam you go? do all you plan on doing is the cam? or are you going to raise compression and so on? but a basic cam no you will have have to change anything

use an r/t cam out of an 01 if you want to go cheap and then switch to dohc piston boost your compression up to almost 10to1

well, could i use a whole top end off of an R/T..I have read that this swap will work but their is something goofy with the starter, you have to use one off an 01 neon, due to the larger intake manifold..Is this correct?

The cam from the 2001 r/t has a more aggressive profile than other OEM cam shafts for the sohc. Nothing to do with the intake manifold.

the 01 r/t cam is a great cheap upgrade but i would say if the car is your daily driver then either the r/t cam or go with the crane #12 or something of the like... your deff going to want to consider upgrading to one of the available aftermarket pcms to raise the rev limit and make full use of the bigger cam shaft... although the pcm is probably not needed with r/t cam but should at least be considered if going with the #12... bigger injectors really not needed unless you do a complete engine build or go turbo...

you need to switch to DOHC for use of srt parts or get an adapter which are hard to come by unless u can make your own
