I don't find anything for 12. 44 is for the ambient/battery temp sensor and 42 is pretty broad, it is the ASD or Fuel pump relays.

12 battery has been disconnected within 50 key cycles. Ignore it.

42 Fuel pump relay control ckt, Auto shutdown relay control ckt, No ASD relay output voltage at PCM, Fuel level sending unit volts out of range, Fuel level unit No change over miles

This is your problem area and you need to check out the items listed above. It is easy to check the fuel pump and ASD relays as you can use the Horn relay (same one) and use it in place of each one to see if it makes any difference. New relays are anywhere from 15 to 30 bucks. Rockauto.com and partsgeek.com seems to have the lowest price I've found for relays.

If it is the fuel pump and/or fuel level sending unit, that requires you to drop the gas level to as empty as possible, lower the gas tank, and take out the entire unit (it contains pump, filter, and fuel guage unit). Replace it with a new one and shop around because prices vary wildly.

44 Battery temp sensor volts out of range. This one is annoying, but not a cause for worry and can be fixed at some future time if you want to keep this error code from reoccurring.

Send me a private message with your name and mailing address and I'll send you a new battery temp sensor for nothing. I have an extra one and don't need it.

Glad you got it going.

hey to check the fuel pump relay or the asd relay... just swap them with the horn relay... they are all interchangeable... when i tested mine i just swaped them one by one into the horn spot and honked the horn... if the horn honks with each one in there then the relays are fine... then you will want to see if the pcm is kicking the relay on when you turn the key. Just have someone turn the key to the run position while you have your finger on the relay... if you feel a click then thats working right then your to your fuel pump... if for some reason you don't feel a click then you need to figure out why your pcm isn't kicking the relay on...

as far as being interchangable like they are on the neon not always but a lot of times yes... and as far as the relay clicking yeah they all do... basically all a relay is, is a switch that is turned on/off by the flow of electricity.......
