10 grand and what to buy...
Hey all. Been a while since ive been here. I just came into some cash(10,000), and its time to upgrade! But what should i get? I have a 96 sport SOHC. I want to up the performance as much as possible, the only thing im hesitating against is getting NOS, since it burns so hot and is hard on the whole car. Also, i dont really wanna tear the interior up. But im game for anything else. So what all should i get? I meen i know the standards, new intake, new exsauhst(sp), pcm, throttle body, header, ect ect. But the thing is, i really like the idea of a turbo, so i need to know what parts work with what. any suggestoins would rock! there really isnt a shop in town that i can test in, so i came to you guys for help. Also, if its not something that can be found at modern performance, could you leave a link for it? ty much

With new pistons and rods, a good clutch, unbreakable axles, and a limited slip, you could easily have an 11-second car and have money leftover for a decent suspension. Get the intercooler option if you plan on keeping the engine.
You may have to run a stock DOHC computer to get a higher speed limiter. A better cam would certainly be in order, particularly if you want to run above 7200 rpm. A good wideband O2 unit like Tech Edge or Zeitronix makes tuning much easier (along with a cheap laptop). Save money for the basic gauges like Boost Pressure, EGT, and Oil Temp, although Water temp and Oil Pressure are always nice to have.
That's the route I'd go.
Best of luck!

kk, question, will an iceman CAI, pacesetter exauhst,a pacesetter header, MPx 55mm throttle body, MSD ignition system, Indy intake manifold, and Unorthadix underdrive pully fit on the car after you put the turbo on? Im not to experianced with turbo, so i really have no clue. dont wanna buy all the parts then end up not being able to use them. Thanks,
