Default rims

ok, new news...I need rims. I'm thinking along the lines of the Enkei RS6 or RS5, which are both made in the 5x100 bolt pattern. I believe they have a 40mm offset, but no clue what that means...I'm just pretty sure they'll fit. Someone told me, though, that 17" are the biggest that you can fit on a neon, and that even to go that big requires extremely low-profile tires (205 40 17 to be exact). So, I'm thinking of going to the 16". Do those require special tires also? Can anyone helppppP! AHHHH!! lol thanks guys!

The 205 40 17 is a great looking combo as long as you pay attention to where your driving and dont hit curbs or pot holes, tho I don't like them on neons unless they are lowered a lot (like around a full 2') because with such a low profile tire and then an 1' or 2' of gap above it looks kinda weird. On a 16' wheel I belive you would be running a 205-45 or 50.

I can't decide between 15 or 17 because I want to get a lighter wheel but still have good looks AND money left in my pocket (tho that never seems to happen)

Alright, to help you a little I'll give you the info I got while picking out my wheels and tires. I just got mine in the past few months and I decided to go with 16". I think that 17" is just to big for the street on a 1g neon. Yes that is the biggest size you can go on the 1g neon. I don't think that you need any bigger than 16" unless you plan on just racing. Also the bigger the wheel the smaller the side wall of the tire gets which = ROUGH RIDE lol It might not bother you at first but I think that I would get annoyed riding that rough all the time. For an everyday car I'd go with the 16". Yes the 1g neon is 5x100, the neon is one of the rare cars that has their wheels like that. You are also correct about the offset...offset is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel.

I think that looks pretty good for 16"

Mine are 17s and 17s are just fine for street use... not considerably the best for drag use cuz most ppl use 15s id just get steelys for the track if I were draggin... And the rs6 arent that heavy so all in all id go for it...Im happy w/ mine.
