does the starter have to have that hooked up in order to make the car run? because i have a 96 neon with a brand new starter for a 98 and i already hooked it up and the connectors are different and i cant return the starter some people told me the ground doesn't have to be hooked up for it to work and others said it does so what is the right answer?
It needs the ground in order for it to work... Should use the same type ground. I've put starters out of 97s+ into my 95's and they all worked fine and 95's had their own type of wiring, much like the 96's.
the only problem is this one is from a 98 and the ground is round instead of a square so it wont wok i tried figuring out a way to make it work but come up with nothing and need to figure this out before i put the radiator back ion and so i can finish the swap i did but cant go anywhere the way it is right now please help lol..?
no i dont so i guess ill just take it out and sell it for like $60-$70 and put the original in again i just thought i could save myself some time later on down the road being that its not fun taking the starter out
