Has anyone ever thought about swapping a fuel tank from 2000 and up neon to our 1st gen neon. They have 12 gallons as we only have 10. What do ya'll think?

 

Didn't the First Gen. get better gas mileage than the Second gen. gets? Probably equals out in the end...wonder if it would even work?

 

yeah I would think so, But on average my neon gets 300 miles to the tank, and seeing as though the newer neons have 12, 2 more gallons 60 more miles. The actual 2000 tank would be around the same dimensions of the 99 and down, ya think. I am truly trying to decide if I can actually do this.it would ultimately aid in my other endeavers to build this car up. Plaese all comments are welcome.

I have a 98 and it holds 12 gallons. I just filled up last night and put 11 gallons in.

 

i also have a 98 and a 12 gallon tank.

 

I had a '99 and it holds 12 gallons. these are nice cars on the gas dept. so cheap to fill up and they go so far. i made it from cali to tx on like 80-100bux
