Yeah I'm pretty sure there are at least a few, if not quite a few that have. I'd look over on neons.org if you want to find out. There is bunch of people with fast neons over there.

12's is not that uncommon for a neon. Its not cheap, but can be done pretty easy.

Only one has hit sub-12's naturally aspirated that I recall, and that was Steve K's 2.4L monster in a tin can (1900 pounds?).

Most turbocharged Neons with forged internals are hitting 12's with no problem. Chris B's turbo car has hit 11's with stock internals, but he tunes better than most... Most stock internal guys are high 12's at best.

Stock DOHC's tend to run mid-15's, SOHC's mid-16's, add at least a second for automatics...

Best ofl uck!

mohler was in the 10s naturally aspirated, was he not?

i remember reading that Don Howard ran 12s in his 1g as well, with a pacesetter header too. dont know if he ever got it below 12s tho (with other mods im sure)

Yeah, I forgot about infamous Don's car. It was up for sale a few months back, but some of the custom work was removed...

How could I forget Scott's car too? Late nights are killing me...
