I use a big OHV spring compressor. It looks like a big C. Only one I found to work well on the dohc, I had to trim a few pieces off it but it worked great.
i am about to put the 2.4l head on now and am taking it to get the springs changed to the crower, i was thinking do i put the cam gears on 2.0l side because of the 2.0l block or now that i have the 2.4l head do i switch the gears to the 2.4l side???? i am stuck and am waiting before i try to start her up?
What do you mean change to the 2.0 side? Exhaust and intake are still on the same side so just put them back how you found them. Change the springs yourself, its not that bad.
yes what i mean is i know the cams are the same lol what i meant to say is that the markings on the cam gears, you can flip them to either the 2.0l side or the 2.4l side? the stock gears i know they say 2.0l side and 2.4l side and i put the 2.4l head on the 2.0l block, i am just not sure whether to leave them like it was before on the 2.0l head or to flip the gears to the 2.4l side? am really confused and am not sure what to do? also does anyone know the torque specs for the cams as in the camshaft bearing cap holders? lol not quite sure what they are called lol? and diagram of tightening order?
