Default SOHC milled head clerance question.

Hi.
Have milled my head .030 and have a crane 12 in it.
Will it be enough room to put a dohc pistons and a crane 14 in it?
Some rumors says it will have clerance problems...

I dont think the valves are the problem. Its the piston kissing the head. I found the evidence under my head of #2 and #3 doing it. I could kind of hear it, went away after it wore in lol. A little play-doe and some head machine work on the bowl can fix that. DOHC pistons have the valve reliefs for the valves, just make sure your timing is right.

Oops forgot back in the day people said file the pistons for the clearance. But I would rather open the bowl, but do what you can. Just assemble the motor with play-doe on the top of the pistons, turn the motor over and see what hits where.

In the intake shoot out in .org, he use 10.5 pistons, head decked .070 with crane 05.
He do not mention any thing about head clearance. All I can read is that he had room for adusing the cam about 3d +/-

He has 10.5 aftermarket pistons correct? I was referring to the DOHC pistons with a sohc head.

Thats wright. He had the 10.5 pistons from JE, not standard dohc pistons. They have to, cause they are buildt for sohc, and will fit the bowl I think...
