I recently had a problem with my car killing. turned out to be the fule pump went bad. what caused it to go bad is the car sat up for 2 yrs and the gas tank got rusted on the inside. Anyone know where or how I can fix the rust problem. the mech. said it may not cause problems right now but eventually will again. (i put a can of seafoam in the tank before it went real bad and the mech. said that added to the problem. it turned the rust into liquid) the fuel pump was a mess. the screen is all rust colored and it ate away the screen into the pump itself. Can I regalvenize it or is there shops that do this?

I would put a new tank in it. They offer plastic tanks that use a different style sending unit and fuel regulator. Otherwise if you replace it with a metal tank your original sending unit will work fine. I would also service the injectors with new filters and put in a new fuel accumulator.
