99 Neon, 2.0, DOHC
A couple of weeks ago I replaced the coil pack and ran fine. Overheated 2 days ago, cooled down and wouldn't start. Used Timing light to verify spark while in parking lot, had fuel. Was getting late so towed it home about 10 miles, 15-25 mph. Now, no spark with timing light (inductive). Checked hot to coil pack, and OK. Also checked output of crankshaft position sensor, it is good. No codes found with a code reader. Ran a compression check, and good for 150,000 miles. No water in oil. I know it needs a water pump but want to hear it run first, one problem at a time. Anyone have an idea of what to do next ?
Check the cam sensor on the drivers side of the head...they leak at the plug and the oil acts like a conductor shorting out...check for injector pulse with a noid light tester or test light if you do not have the propor light....
Earlier had checked the water temp sensor. Reading cold engine. thought that might keep from firing

have odb reader. nothing shows. back to the book. based on the book, center term of coil pack will cut off in pcm does not see engine turning over. Monitored while cranking, and stays on. also gave procedure to check coil driver wires to coil pack. flashes as supposed to.
used same procedures on one injector. working good. also ran a jumper cable from bat neg to block just in case. Bat started down, so on charge now. I know if crank rpm not high enough then ignition cut off. I just had a off the wall idea. Car was filled up that morning, bad gas ?

we will get u back on the rd
