Default Power window motors are getting pretty slugish.

Is there something that I can grease or adjust to get them back moving at their usual speed...
Or are the motors just getting old?

Thank you.

Some white lithium grease on the track and some WD-40 on the motor and arms could help. It might be the motor going though. Try lubing it and if that does not work, get a new motor.

Mine is a 98' as well.

At first they were just slowing down when the window was like half way down/up.... but now it's slow all the way up/down, and sometimes... not all the time but often enough I pretty much have to push it down myself when it get's to about half way down.

My 96 neon has the same problem but only with one window. it is considerably slower than the drivers side one. Has anyone removed the door panels yet? Normally on alot of cars they can be a right pain in the ****.

i took my door panels off many times its just two screws and clips... the clips are easy to break so expect to break some but they are cheap to replace... to remove it completely there and like 3 wires for the switches.... but you can just push the whole panel aside and have full access to every thing in the door.

I also have a 98, mine is a 2 door, and the windows are slow, i've had problems lately with the switches being worn out, i'm sure thats part of y they are slow, if those don't help than i'm going to replace the motors and see what happens.

If any of you have noticed a lit of slop side to side in the window when its say half way down there are 2 screws in side that door to adjust that play.
