Default Timing Cover......

Any neon owners had this problem???

Ok, after many hours in the garage i found that my timing cover is fubared! as in leakin oil like crazy near the header flange, Has anyone else had this problem or had their's changed?

I think it might have gotten too hot and melted..........good thing i payed for the fancy ceramic header!!

thats just my guess.

The timing cover doesn't hold any oil. You can remove it completely and only have to worry about rocks/debris finding their way between the belt and gears...

Have you removed the timing belt cover to see if the leak is coming from the cam seal(s) on that side? Could it just be a valve cover gasket?

Best of luck!

tried getting the cover off, but you gotta remove an engine support and stuff...........too serious for me.

My valve cover is rock solid.

it isnt too big a job mate, the eng support is a little awkward to get out cus of the long bolts holding it it but with a jack under the engine and a bit of perseverance and giggery it will come off. its just a matter of unclipping the cover and replacing the seal
