Crane doesn't advance timing. It can only be used to retard timing.

Wheel is tire and rim together, so it is correct.

No debate at all on the Screamin Demon, it is the only coil on the market that is actually an upgrade. It has 40,000 v secondary the stock and MSD are both 36,000. The MSD is a stock coil in red.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think there is any need with the neon to ever advance timing, unless you are running a quite serious car, no?

That is very correct, we can't beat um too bad, lol

Only reason to advance the timing is to make more power.

You yourself are retarding timing?

The best ignition to run is the Crane HI-6. That is what we run on our vehicles, including the 95 SOHC Neon we set the worlds record with it.

An engine will make more power with the timing advanced, but gasoline and compression (boost as well) limit the amount of timing you can run before detonation starts. The stock timing curves are made to run 87 octane, so they don't have enough timing. Now if you run boost, you build so much cyliner pressure, that you may need to pull timing out. Also, you will need to pull timing out with very high compression. Race fuel allows you to have the best of both worlds.

Ok, I get where you are going now, I was gonna say. Makes sense now, I knew advancing the timing would create more HP, but that there was only so far you could go. Again though, other than a highly built N/A neon, you will never advance the timing and I would be fine with the crane for a turbo neon.

You can gain by advancing the timing on stock compression. That is one of the reasons the AFX computer is so effective. The stock is set to run on 87 octane, the AFX is set to run on 92.
