I want to make my neon quicker and faster with cheap, affordable upgrades That i can install myself and i am a beginner. I want to make my neon 1997 neon sport with the H.O. engine faster. i mean its bad when it takes about 6.sec to make it to 60 mph I want it faster. so any ideas? also I am starting a neon auto club and was wondering if anyone is interested in joinin.

 

No stock Neon (other than the SRT-4) does 0-60 in 6 seconds...

Don't know what you mean by "H.O." engine. There was the SOHC and the DOHC for the 1st gens, that's it. Well, unless you consider the $3500 Mopar crate SOHC that had 160 HP... Knowing which engine and tranny combo you have would help a lot. If you have the ATX, your best bets are a swap to MTX, turbo, or nitrous. Slap all the bolt-on's you want on an ATX, a stock R/T is going to walk away from it...
