Default lubricating gauges

What the easiest way to lubricate my speedometer gauge? What part of the dash has to come off to lubricate the speedometer? How do you take the dash apart to get to it?

If its not making noise, leave it alone, there really is no need to lubricate it. If you do use a dry lubricant with graphite.

Just use a dry lube.

Using a guage overlay perchance?

Try rubber cement or double-sided scotch tape on the back of the overlay...

Best of luck!

The gauge needle motors consist of a magnet which sits in thick oil and 2 magnetic coils that wrap around the magnet. IMO the purpose of this oil is to help maintain smooth steady needle movement while lubricating the parts. Unless the needle motors have been upside down the oil will not come out. The only real way to get the oil back in there is to put a few drops around the shaft and hope they make it down in there. I haven't bothered to try this, I just throw out the defective motors when i'm building gauges.
