are you inquiring as to wether the DOHC header will fit on an SOHC engine? If that's your question, then no the DOHC header will not fit on an SOHC. The header was designed differently, hence the different branding. Manufacturers say that it's for a DOHC for a reason, because it won't fit on anything else.

The DOHC heads have larger valves than the SOHC heads (34.5 mm intakes and 29.5 mm exhausts in the DOHC versus 33.0 mm intakes and 28.0 mm exhausts in the SOHC), which allows the DOHC engine to make more power (153 hp) than the SOHC version (132 hp).

If you want a DOHC header, you need to have a DOHC engine.

It sounds to me like you wanna get some more horsepower outta your SOHC. I also have an SOHC and was looking around Allpar, and realized that there is not that much performance difference between them. I will set the link here, you should read the article!

BELOW IS TAKEN STRAIGHT FOR ALLPAR
http://www.allpar.com/mopar/2dohc.html

The 2.0 blocks (both sohc/dohc) are the same casting number.

But the SOHC head is only used on the 2.0 SOHC. The DOHC Neon shares a cylinder head with the 2.4L. The Avenger/Sebring/Eclipse 2.0 DOHC head is unique and has reversed flow.

In the Neon, the 2.0 DOHC was rated at 150 horsepower, but many believed that only those who raced would see any advantage over the standards 132 horsepower SOHC engine; torque was similar, and the advantage of the dual cams did not come into play until very high rpms.

All information is from Chrysler press releases.

this question has been asked so many times............................................. ......................the answer is no to which from sohc to dohc you need to swap the head, pcm, and pistons you can use the block you have but all in all its easier just to swap out the whole motor.

Just swap the head, blocks are the same we do it all the time. If your doing it in a car and don't want to change the wiring harness you need to lengthen the wires to the Water Temp Sensor becaue they are on opposite sides of the engine. Cam Sensor just needs to be swaped from SOHC to DOHC. Change the intake and header. have to add one timing belt idler, the others will will work. Pretty easy.

actually you can use a dohc head for a sohc block but the vales have to be change out to accomdate for the lack of space on the dohc head
I am in the process doing this right now. what i did is order top end rebuild from modern perfomance and lower end rebuild from them as well. i just let them know what i was doing and they made sure i got the right parts. check it out

Not sure where you got that info, but that is incorrect. You do not have to change the valves for clearance in a head swap. If anything a valve swap (you can only go bigger, not smaller) would decrease piston to valve clearance. You do not have to spend money on valves if you don't want to.

i was told by alot of my friends that have dont it you can put a DOHC on a SOHC motor but they said it either required a new ecu or just like the cam sensor i'm not 100% but i know it definetly can be done and from what i'm heard that are supposed to be a little bit quicker then stock DOHC because of the piston design
