Iridium has a higher melting point than platinum, higher strength, lower resistance (2.5ohms per inch vs 6 ohms per inch with platinum), a MUCH higher hardness than platinum, and a lower required voltage to ignite.

Platinum has long been known for its durability, while Iridium is fairly new to the market. Manufacturers have had a hard time learning to create Iridium plugs efficiently enough to turn a profit. Platinum used to be the best option......until Iridium hit the market.

I've been told when you have a coil going bad. One half of it will go bad not all of it, and this could couse a mis-fire.

one thing you should check with the coil pack is the 3 pin flat plug on the side. if the clips are broken or loose the plug will pull away a little from the coilpack sausing it to misfire. try pushing it in just a little

Holy old thread. The side with the drive belts is always the "front" of the motor. So it goes 1-4 from left to right. I believe the coil pack is also labeled.
