Default Throttle body swap

Ok gang my buddy has a 2.4L stratus and I was curios as to how big the bore is on the 2.4L DOHC compaired to the 2.0 SOHC and would that work on the Neon. What kind of gains would I get from that if the swap was doable at all.

Thanks guys.

The SOHC Stratus has a bore width of 52mm, which is already larger than the 48mm in the Neon, but I'm not sure if you would be able to swap them directly. Your best bet would be to compare them. Even if they're the same, I would keep the sensors from the Neon on there to make sure that everything goes over without a hitch. The Neon throttle body will accept a bore of approximately 55mm while I've seen a Stratus with a bore of 65mm, which makes me think that they might not be compatible. You'd probably be better off to have your current throttle body bored out to 55mm instead of guessing.

The MTX Neon's TB necks down to 49mm (venturi shape). The ATX Neon TB is 52mm, same as the 2.4L Stratus. 52mm is plenty for most people, not that 55mm or even 60mm is going to hurt anywhere in the power band (doesn't help either...), dyno proven. When going to a larger TB, you can squeeze out an extra pony or two by making sure the TB and intake mani are port matched.

Best of luck!

Go pick up a automatic neon throttle body I heard there either 50mm or 60mm one of them but act as performance for the SOHC
