You can put any motor in there that you want, but its gonna be a custom fit. The eclipse motor, turbo or no-turbo is not going to just drop in.

First off no it wouldnt That what i own a eclipse its not a direct bolt on. it will fit if u do alot of modification. But ask yourself why do yu want a non turbo 420a or a 4g63? Why the 4g63 has 135 hp and the 420a has 140hp now as wut i heard of abotu the neon have 150hp plus the neon motor probly alot more easyer to make faster. Because eclipse arent easy

The DOHC neon and the non-turbo eclipse both have the 420A right? So why would you want to swap if it's the same damn engine. If you want real power then you could try and fit a 4g63 in there but I'd imagine it would be a PITA. 1st gen 6bolt 4g63s are 190hp and 2nd gen 7bolts are 210hp, but the 6 bolt is a much better engine even though it comes with less hp stock. Plus if you want to do a swap you can easily build the engine while it's out of the car and it will push up to almost 300hp on the stock turbo (14b) with supporting mods.

It's not the same damn engine. The 420A was never available in the Neon, it's a Mitsubishi engine designation. The 420A is the same damn Dodge block that's in the damn Neon, but with a damn DSM DOHC head that makes less power than the Dodge DOHC.

4g63 swap has been done, and yes, it's a PITA.

Since it's the same block, yes it would fit. You can physically fit the 420A head on there, just keep in mind that the exhaust manifold is now going to be where the radiator is, so clearance could be an issue. I've seen it done on a boosted Neon, I forget whose though (one of the Mopar team IIRC).
