P0110 Intake Air Temperature Circuit Malfunction

Could also be a bad IAT sensor.

Odd... 1st gens should only have a P0112 or P0113 for an air intake fault. Is the CEL on? Does it show a code 23 using the key method? The EGR 4-digit codes would be P0401 or P0403 (code 32 using the key method).

"Circuit" is just a term for a particular section of electrical parts. The IAT circuit would include the IAT sensor and wiring, etc.

I'd double check that code before replacing parts...

Best of luck!

The EGR system typically only functions during freeway driving, that may be how you're going so long before getting it back on.

You can find the EGR fairly easily. Under the hood, toward the driver's side, looks like a UFO... There's one pipe that connects to the head, and another to the intake manifold. You should be able to remove the assembly with hand tools, I think I had to take the TB off to get to it (years ago, when I still had one...). You can try spraying in a bunch of carb cleaner, see if it's just gumming up (very possible) and reinstall it. If the CEL comes back on, you'll probably want to replace it. You should only need to replace the valve portion though, since you aren't getting the code for the solenoid (P0403).

If you want, you can get a Mopar (or AFX) PCM, which will allow you to block off the system and never get the CEL for that again... That's what I did when my EGR started acting up.

The Mopar PCM is 50-state legal, not that it's easily identifiable unless you put the included stickers on it. You don't have to buy block-off plates. You can use a coin (nickel, dime, whatever fits) on any one of the joint locations, head is probably the easiest. You'll pass a visual. I don't recall even California doing anything that would verify the operation of the EGR. A scan for codes on the Mopar PCM sure isn't going to show them anything...
