Default air filter

i have the 2.0 16 valve dohc u know the plastic that sits over the motor that goes to the air filter would it hurt if i just left it off if not will it give me more power?

I believe they designed that so it is sucking colder air from the front of the engine instead of letting the air travel over the engine heating it up then going into the intake.. so i would have to say no it wont give you any more power.. i would assume it would be worse.

You would just get more **** in your filter.

i run mine without it( because ok i steped on it) and i lost no power, didn't really gain any but it sounds a hell of a lot meaner, go figure?

You can take it off and it will sound better. Your not gonna gain any power. If would put some type of a filter on there so you don't suck junk.

i suck junk in mine cause i took a piece of pvc pipe, a 90 degree elbow, and pointed her up front, put some fiberous matireal on the front to keep bugs out and vwola! sucks lots!

i love my car, in fact its all i do, having the intake like that doesnt do to bad, when it rains, i turn it the otherway, the fiborous material stops crap from really getting into it (im sure it doesnt stop all junk) plus im workin on buyin and rebuilding a motor for it

I would hurry up and get that motor and rebuilding it. "Fiborous material"???????????? Do you have a turbonator and electiric supercharger on your PVC intake too? GHETTO![sm=lame.gif][sm=signs003.gif]

naw its cool, ok heres the old

mmm smell that fresh head gasket

And the new

it really works and it doesnt suck bugs or water.
