Dont quote me but i tried hooking up a tach once, (didnt work later i found out due to corroseion in the coil pack then i sold the tach)

Red, Black, Green, and White wires?

Red and White, are power and lights in the tach, red and white both to the battery or powersorce
Black Duh ground
Green, i hooked up to my coil pack middle wire, pick one test it and if it works Vwola!

You would find it easier and less ricey if you went out and bought a used stock tach out of a salvaged Neon, yea the miles would be different, you would have to write that down and it would be a hard sell on the car, but you wouldnt look like you have your kitchen clock sitting on your dash. Its also a lot easier to install.

The power wires are the power wires, the pick up wire connects to the grey wire with the blue strip, there are a few places you can pick it up. Mine is connected to the wire comming out of the PCM, works great.

My PCM doesnt look anything like the one in the haynes manual, Mine has 2 seperate Connection points instead of 1 long one. Also how is the connection made? is it done with an inline splicer soo it just latches onto the side of the wire and draws a signal that way?

The PCM in the Haynes manual is from a '95, it's different. You can use an inline splicer or just cut the wire and splice onto it, since that wire isn't really doing anything at the moment...

Best fo luck!
