What cams are you considering, I know Crane makes about 4 different grinds for the neon, I am not sure about Zex.

Cranes are proven in the neon and other applications also. I'd go with them.

What cam to get depends on what mods you have, what mods your gonna do, and if you are planning a turbo or not.

The crane #14 would probally be a good choice. Check out Modern performance.

I thought #14's were more for turbo engines? I think most people like the #16's and can still manage everyday driving. Don't go with the #10's or #12's, not worth the money.

Don't you have the DOHC Spud?

Zex (aka Comp Cams) doesn't make any for the DOHC last I checked. There's Crane and Crower. Most people go with Crane. With 10.5:1 compression, you could run #22's and not have idle issues... I wouldn't try running 12:1 or higher on the street. I'm sure it's doable, but that's a lot of timing to pull just to run pump gas...

Best of luck!
