Default Window Regulator

I have manual windows and my drivers side has been having a tough time rolling down. So hard that I had to use 2 hands. So I removed the door panel, put some white lithium grease on the tracks and that seemed to do fine. Until something happened and now my window won't roll down at all. It makes a really horrible sound if I try to almost like i'm stripping the thread or something. Its almost summer and I'm dying with the heat and not being able to roll down my window. Does anyone know whats wrong? Can I just buy a new regulator? Should I bring it to the dealership and pay an arm and a leg?

It's hard to say without looking at the door, but you could go to a junkyard and get a used one. I wouldn't take it to the dealer unless you are ready to drop your pants and walk in backwards

I guess my question is does anyone know where i can find a diagram or installation instructions for a window regulator. The chilton's doesn't seem to have it. When i pull the door panel off and try to look into the door between all the metal i'm just lost,,,
