RE: how do u do an engine flush?
well in my green Neon with 232,000 miles on whenever we change the oil as soon as we let it run for a little bit it gets all black ugly looking and i've been worried about it for some time (mostly due to the fact that i want it to last as long as possible). it doesn't have any major leaks. like we can go almost to 3,000 miles before having to add some. our red Neon on the other hand is going through oil like crazy and just like our green one it just gets all black and ugly as soon as we change it. our red one has over 200,000 miles and were trying to get it to last as long as possible as well.

i hope you ARE NOT going to flush the oil system with a high mile engine. the reason your oil gets black really fast is the piston rings are getting worn allowing gasses to get into the crankcase and add extra carbon to your oil. your oil filter will get rid of any big chunks that are big enough to go through the oil pick-up tube screen.
think about this. Q: what breaks down/ flushes oil away?
A: solvents.
Q: how do you get the solvent out of the motor after daining?
A: you don't, it's still left in the oil passages to break down the fresh oil.
Q: what will solvents do to high mile gaskets?
A: let me know if you find out.
if you are talking about a coolant flush i'd take to a shop. call around, you should be able to get it done for $20-$30. no mess to clean and so on.

- Is 124,000 considered high milage?
- Could another reason the oil gets dirty fast be there is solidified gunked up oil up all up and around the rocker arms?
- Would solvent residue problem be solved by changing the oil twice after running the flush stuff?

it kinda depends on how old the car is too. a 3 yr old car can have those miles, flushing the oil passages wouldn't be a prob for this example. the prob is as gaskets get old they get brittle, crack, and such. the oil wil start to seep into the gaskets and form a sluge around the cracks helping to seal the "leaks". when you flush the system you get rid of all the sluge allowing the cracks to leak freely.
best way to change the oil is to run the motor to norm operating temp then drain and change. good luck.
