My turbo quest!!!
I have also posted this on Boostedmopar.com but i wanted to see what everyone has to say/include.
OOOOk so heres my deal, i gotta first gen neon im wanting to turbo. I have had the ATX rebuilt, replaced head gasket, new fuel pump, and minor things fixed here and there, and shes feelin reliable again. So i want to put a turbo on. I have seen the SOHC turbo kits on ebay. Check it out here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mopar...70922163QQrdZ1
What else will i need? Oil lines, Map clamp (or missing link), RRFPR? Has anyone found a turbo computer that works with the 95 sohc? Does anyone know how to hook up a Missing link or map clamp?
lastly if i wanted to go with a mopar ecu, (which i belive advances the timing.) would i be able to retard the timing back to where it works with a turbo set up?
THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

When I click the link, it doesn't work. There is no turbo computer for the neon and you do not want an aftermarket PCM that will advance the timing. You could retard the timing with an adjustable cam gear, but it isn't worth it.
Bah the link doesnt work anymore, cause the auctions over i think, but anywho it was a sohc manifold with a turbo and a couple oil feeds, it was $499, and the turbo was refurbished so yaaa. So i should keep the stock pcm, and dink with the map clamp or the missing link?
if you are putting any kind of power thru the trans think about a better trans cooler. most autos have the fluid routed through the radiator, ok for everyday aroud town stuff. the 1st gen RX-7 (78-85) have an awesome oil cooler you could splice in if you can find one in a junk yard. hope you put a better torque converter in.
if you want to run with what you got you might think about a "water wetter". it's an additive you put in your coolant to make it mo' better. good luck.
Do they make tranny coolers? or would i have to back yard mechanic the thing?
