Default fuel mileage

I have a 96 sohc with mtx. I was wondering what kind of gas mileage similar cars were getting. Mine gets about 24-26 mpg. Please respond.

my wife has a 99 dohc auto, and is averaging about 26-28(unless i drive it)...my r/t has been getting about 15 since i put the cold air intake on it(i really like the way it sounds)...but before the intake it was getting about 30-32...on the way home from work, on the interstate you can almost watch the gas gauge go down(its 5 a.m. and no one on the road, so 100-115 all the way..about 20 miles)

Is that because of the new intake or you can't keep your foot off the gas because you like the sound so much?

cant keep the foot off the gas.....plus with the atx throttle body on there, the pedel is so much lighter, it doesnt take anything to push it now.....so the pedel touches the floor constantly

Its funny. Going 110 km/h brings better milage then 100 km/h or 120. So staying around 110 is optimum milage for my car. Anybody else figure out there optimum speed?
