Default oil

ok today i was helping my friend work on his jeep and we were looking at the throttle body and it was covered in oil or a mixture of oil and gas i couldnt really tell and then we took the throttle body off and noticed that the intake manifold was the same way. At first thought i am pretty sure this isnt right so i was wondering what could cause this or if that is normal o and also some how oil or something is getting in the air filter

I think that is caused from a bad PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve. I'll check my Haynes manual for sure but I think that is what it is caused from.

Best part is...it's a cheap and easy fix! Like $5 or something. Be careful with the hoses, they may be brittle and break on you.

Nope, depending on your year it should be on the back side of the valve cover, passenger side, in front of the coolant reservoir and power steering reservoir.

That's not the PCV valve. How would you change that?
