i have a 98 r/t that redlines first and second but struggles to in third, fourth stops at about 6000rpm and fifth won't go past 4000rpm. if anyone has any suggestions i would love to hear them.
motor isnt making enough power to do it. your first and second gears have some wild gearing so your motor doesnt have to work as hard to get things moving. Once you are moving and get into the taller gears there is less assistance from the transmission gears in getting things flowing.
start with pulling codes, just 'cause the light ain't on don't mean you have no codes. 2nd a COMPLETE tune up and use copper plugs. give some feed back, good luck.
ok so i removed the cat and put on an obx header and a 52 mm TB. it accelerates slightly faster but still have the same problem. do copper plugs make that much of a difference?
