Default it has been brought to my attention

i recently found out that my red r/t was previously used for autocross racing.....i was told that it was considered a stripper too...which would all explain the koni struts...no options at all...and the front sway bar was removed(which i was told was so the suspension has more flex to it)...and might explain why the pasenger side mirror was replaced and the passenger door had a big dent fixed(i noticed where the dent puller studs were welded to the door when i was putting in the power windows)....ends up the guy bought the car, raced it for a while, then traded it in....i wonder what else might be done to the car that i dont know about....i did think it seemed faster then my other r/t but i wasnt sure, maybe my imagination though....just thought it was interresting

my neon was stolen by a 15 year old girl once and used in a high speed chase lol... it ran worse because of that.

A co-worker of mine had his Jetta stolen. The thief gave it the whole NFSU2/F&F treatment. Paint, decals, superfluous parts (exhaust, spoiler, ground effects, etc), neon, stereo, and the like. The cops busted the thief 6 weeks after it was stolen when the guy was lifting his next project car.

The coworker had it returned to stock.

Flirting with being off-topic, I know. Your story just reminded me of that.

Yeah thats what chops shops will get ya, my girlfriends step dad was looking at buying a car but was all pissed off becuase who's ever car it was did a engine swap and didn't bother with getting the new paper work for the engine, not title no nothing the best he they can do now is run the vin and go from there the guy at the yard let him take the rims off the car but said if he wanted the car he had to show proof of title and crap but we all know he isn't coming back for the car so now theres just a pretty engine just sitting there with no where to go.

see i dont mind about it being raced, i think its kinda neat....im also thinkin that the guy put a better clutch in the car while he was racing it because at 130,000 hard miles, it still grips like new....plus im glad he got the koni struts put on it because now i dont have too, of course i didnt know it had konis until i went to lower the car.....i dont know if anything is done to the motor though, but i do need to replace the head gasket and water pump...plus im gonna put on a header and whatever else i have in the meantime...maybe i will find out sumthing good inside the motor then

used it for running drugs most likely. Half our car thiefs are under 15, and half our murders are from kids under 18. Its not a good inner city at all here.

haha wow I was bout to ask Dogday where he lived...then I spotted the Winnipeg under his name. That sux man, and I thought Toronto was bad...but anyway Autorcross?? I'm kina surprised the Neon withstood all that...is everything still aligned properly? and did he do any engine mods? that would b sweet. Did you notice the swaybar was gone? or have you not drivin it yet. And I'm jus curious...why would he want more flex in the suspension? wont that kina throw off the steering a lil?

well, i didnt notice the sway bar was gone until i went to lower it...about 2 monthes after i got it...with the koni struts on it, i woulda never known until i went to do work under the car and woulda realized it wasnt there....everything was alligned great and the steering was awsome...but thats all been changed since the accident....
there wasnt any mods on it that were noticable..but i dont know if there is any internal work done....but i hope to find out when i change the head gasket.....but there was a k&n non servicable sticker on the radiator support...
when i first got this car i could take 35mph curves at almost 80 without any sliding or problems at all

i dont know anything about autocross....but this guy i know down the street that works at the local dealership has a taurus S.H.O. that he autocrosses....but when that car is getting worked on, he races his 98 r/t....the r/t stands the abuse great...alot better then his S.H.O.(being it gets a new trans after almost every race)
