Default scissor doors

im getting sick and tired of these expensive a$$ prices for these scissor doors. I like how they look but hate how much they are. In college i have access to a nice machine shop and welding area. Figure if i cna get my hands on schematic or layout of original door hinge I can make my own. Figure ima use steel and TIG welding machine. Any idea where i can grab the layout for a stock neon door hinge?

i do love the neons but i also like the style of the scissor doors on frameless windows. however i use to drive only mustangs. after comparing engines to a standard of american cars, the neon reminds me more of an import then a domestic. If you dont htink so take a look at how tight it is to get to anything around the belt.

You can make your own, but to get a good fit and look good your gonna have to know what you are doing or spend a good deal of time tweeking them. One of the reasons they cost so much is the amount of time and fabrication that goes into a good set-up.

i dont mean to say that neons are hondas...far from it...im just saying i miss the days of being able to just take off my timing belt or alternator without crampin up my hand or twisting it in ways it wasnt ment to do. however i do like the easy access to the header and air intake manifold.
