So I sit in my neon and turn the key on it starts up right away with the narmal high rpm boost then it lowers but instead of going to idle it goes way down to almost liek 400 rpm or less then it jumps back up to 900. what is going on ?

Mine does the same thing, and then when it does recover, its a really rough idle, so I rev up the engine and a bunch of black **** comes outta my tail pipe. I think its either the humidity around here lately or it could be my EGR valve too (I know mine is bad)

Heh, the EGR setup is on the right hand side of your engine.. You have to remove the battery, battery tray, and move the fuse box to get to it... Then after that, you have to have a bit of finess to get to it.. It can be very tricky and frustrating... I think I am just gonna block mine off because we dont have E-check in my county :-D If you pick up a Haynes manual, it will give ya the lowdown on how to get it out
