thats what i thought....but didn't work too well in my 5-spd for some reason.... i got like 26mpg going 55mph (RPMs roughly about 2200) but yet when i go around 73 or so with the RPMs roughly 2800 or so i get about 34mpg.....strange....

Neon highway miles are the best, I set mine on cruise control and let it doe It's thing, sometimes I wish it could steer it's self lol.

2800 rpm is where the neon is making its ideal power. Although the rpms are higher the car has to do less work to keep moving re: you dont have to give it much throttle at all to keep it at that speed.

For the auto, you should try and find that same rpm range to get the best millage. However it will be far less of a speed because of diffrent gear ratios.

My truck gets the best gas millage (16mpg) at about 2100 rpm, but that is a small block v8. Its only about 65mph though, but that is because of my gearing also lol. I am running 35" tires with 3.42 gear ratio, and I have to keep my tranny in 3rd which is 1:1.

It cost me about 100 bucks to fill it from empty. Thats at 1.14 a litre at the pump, with regular dog water pump gas. However that cant even hold a candle to my work van at 150 bucks to fill. Its a big pig of a 1 ton that gets about 9mpg. Luckly I dont pay the gas bill

wow...it only cost me about 20 to fill up my Neon...but then again we dont drive it till its empty... we fill it up every 200 miles....due to the fact that the fuel gauge doesn't work

yup, 36 technically it's more because it's a 12.5 gallon tank but I just go with 3 gallons per .25 tank because I don't let the tank get to the .5 gallon point. I always keep a 2.5 gallon container in the trunk.
