The parts can be purchased for around $120-$150 and if you do it yourself then you save there.

If you reset the PCM and the code doesn't come back, then you should be fine. If there is a problem, the code will come back or the car will not run.

i reset the pcm ,drove to the grocery store. checked the codes .code 43.drove home checked codes code 44. it appears that possibly the 43 and 11 codes are no longer being stored on the pcm . i may test it again tommorow. my main concern is the dreaded code 11. if thats gone for good then i will be happy.

They dyno'd a few at school and they did make a couple of ponies but the alway ended up sliding down the throat of the intake binding up the throttle body butterflies making the throttle stick over time. Our assement, Don't bother.

Heck some of the hi-po throttle bodies have similar features built in so it can't be all bad. But that fin thingy would not stay put too often.

i was driving from boston last night and i decided to drive at 70 mph then all of a sudden the car started to buck and it continued to buck on and off untill i got off the freeway.

when i got home i checked the codes .just the 44,12,55. so this morning i'm driving and the check engine light comes on i pull over check the codes code 72 is the new code

showing up. i checked the haynes manual and it says catylitic converter problem i dont know if its that or an o2 sensor or something else. i will say this the very reason i drove the

car last night in the first place was to try to get an idea as to the gas milage.i seemed to get about 100 miles if i fill the car from half full to full and then down to 3/4 of a tank so i

would say roughly 100 miles per quarter tank so possibly close to 400 miles a tank .so that explaines the gas mileage problem as possibly being the cat or o2 .my questioun is

how much would it cost for a cat or can i get by with a universal cat or just have a pipe go straight through without the cat granted i live in massachusettes and we have yearly inpections

If you have emissions testing, then you will need your cat and you can get a magnaflow cat one for around $65.

thanks

65$ is alot better than the 300 $ i thought i would have to pay for a cat . i just hope they sell it locally at an autoparts store. and also i hope the pcm is spitting out the right code

for the problem . i mean would a bad cat cause the bucking or an o2 sensor

The downstream O2 is after the cat and tests the cat's effeciency, so it's probably your cat, but it could be a bad O2 sensor, possibly.
