The Iceman was the only one, you would think someone else would have came up to the plate and gave the iceman some comp. that would have probably produced a better intake then the iceman for the simple fact of competition to get the best product out, But I doub't it would have got any better then the iceman intake though. now would be a good time for some company or idependent to step in and clean up anyone can do really and to engineer it wouldn't be hard if you had right tools like this program I have call Swift 3D 4.5 , and some materials
AEM's original intake was a CAI and was almost exactly like the Iceman, but for some reason changed it. I "read" that they were getting lawsuits about engines hydrolocking on them. Don't know if this is true or not though.
I wouldn't doubt the truth in the reasoning why they would change there design like that. unless they didn't have some type of precautionary warning to the buyers that the location of the filter could cause hydrolock. and buy purchasing the AEM you assume full responsibility and AEM will not be held accountable for possible hydrolock problems. if they had something like that then Id bet it would still be around but some manufacturing law probably prohibited them from adding that to a disclaimer if there was one, if that's the case then they probably might have faced some lawsuits, but wouldn't the iceman encounter some as well? unless they did have a disclaimer.
