Default Recommendations Needed!

Hey everyone. I just put a sound system in my car. With the added weight of the 12" subwoofer and box in combination with driving around with two or three other people, it feels as if my Neon is horribly slow!

I have a 1999, SOHC, manual, four door Neon. I've read the ways to make your Neon faster, and for now I'm most interested in getting a Cold Air Intake and maybe a new muffler.

First of all, I'd like to make it known that I have a limited amount of tools. So basically, I was wondering just how difficult putting on a new CAI or muffler would be. Easy, moderately easily or difficult.

Secondly, I'd like to ask for everyone's advice on which CAI and muffler to go with. If possible, I'd like a direct link to the product on a respectable website.

Now, I only want to use parts that will easily fit on my type of Neon. Whenever looking around on websites, some websites say the certain part will fit my car, while other websites say it won't and it's quite confusing.

Last but not lead, any opinions or reviews from any of you guys who have used the products would be much appreciated.

Thanks again,
Drunkship

The only true CAI that was available for the neon was the Iceman, but it has been discontinued. The only way to get one is a used one. PM me if you are interested in getting one. You can also make your own CAI...search around there are some thread on here where people made their own.

It is very simple to install the Iceman. Since you have a SOHC, put a DOHC muffler on there to save money and maybe a auto TB.

The vibrant is heavy though, so keep that in mind!

I know, but he said he put a system in and added weight, so I'd recommend the DOHC muffler to save weight and still get comparable results.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm just looking for the easiest ways to make my car a little faster for a minimal price, seeing as how I have little money.

If I were to get a DOHC muffler and not a SOHC one, would it be any more difficult in putting it on? What would the pros be to putting a DOHC muffler on it instead of just a SOHC anyways?

Make your own CAI, get a DOHC muffler and put an auto TB on there. $75-$100 spent total

Any reccomendations as far as purchasing a DOHC muffler?

Also, what do you mean by "auto TB"? Sorry, I no pretty much nothing about cars, aside from audio.
