I'm rebuilding my 96 4dr neon and i want a new engine well every thing just about I'm going to race it so it needs to be powerful I also have no budget so make you dream car.

then add a roll cage and every suspension option

then get the Mopar Stage 3 performancekit for the SRT-4

if you going to race stay away from visual mods all they do is add weight.
Yes get the srt-4 engine and trans get the stage 3 upgrade, maybe slap on some nitrious
???? can the str-4 engine handle nitrious if its boosted real high?????

IIRC, then the SRT internals can handle up to like 400-450hp!

well I honestly hope that you have no buget limit because its gonna be expensive.
You can sometimes find an srt-4 engine and tranny on ebay.
mopar performance sell stage 3 upgrade kits
megasquirt sells their own products.
I would go with NOS if you want nitrious.
plus whatever you want to do suspension wise to harness all that power.
I hope you know alot about cars because all this stuff is a lot of hard work and knowledge.

 

I posted this setup before, but I'll do it again:

Here is what I'd do:
97-99 Neon - $500 with blown engine
SRT-4 engine - $1500
SRT-4 seats - $400
SRT-4 exhaust - $200
Megasquirt - $250-$500
Koni's - $760
Eibach Lowering springs - $200 (Mopar High rates are discontinued[:@] )
Eibach Sway Bars - $290

and add about another $1000 for headlights, tires, and other stuff that I would add and you would only be in about $5500 and have a quick, great handling sleeper car!!!!!!!

I would do what everyone else says, SRT-4 engine, throw out all the seats and add a full roll cage and saftey harnesses, supercharger, and whatever else everyone recomends.
