Brake Noise
Hey all! When I start from a dead stop the pass. side brake makes a very loud sound like the caliper the rubbing the rim. I just recently changed the brake pads but, that was about 4 weeks ago and this problem started about 4 days ago. My braking ablilty is not affected by this I seem to have equal clamping force on both sides of the front rotors but, that damned noise it what is concerning me. I have taken the wheen off to look and make sure all of the hardware is installed and torqued and it is. Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Is it a constant sound or just when you brake or turn?
Is it coming from the front or rear. Our sebring had this problem and we changed the front pads and blasted the rear drums with brake cleaner and it stopped it for about a week.

it is a grinding noise and it did not start until about 2 weeks after I installed the new pads and rotor. Do I need the rotor retainer clips to keep the rotorin place? Does the rim keep the rotor in place? Is the rotor supposed to come off when the caliper is taken off? I just don't know that much about domestic sport compact cars. Any and all help will be appreciated
I am applying the proper torque to the wheels and it still makes the noise. I can shimmy the wheel about 1/2 inch left and right though. At the same time that I did the brakes I had both tie rod ends replaced and the car aligned. I am just simply at a loss of what to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

I was thinking the same thing das. I found one here in the city that will give me a free estimate. I am going to try them out. Thanks for all the help guys. I am still trying to get everything uploaded to my site but, my FTP is not working and has not been for a few days.
Did you change the rotors too?
Because when I changed the pads on my truck, I changed the rotors too. The thickness of the new rotors was causing them to rub on the dust shield. I just had to bend i back a little bit and all is well.
