today i went to pick up some beer, got to the store , turned it off. when i came out to leave i tried to start it and nothing happened, i cheacked all the conections cleaned my batt conn, every thing was good,but..the starter would not turn over,poppeda beer cheacked the other conn, hit it with a stick a couple of times and still nothing, finally got tired of messing with it and it was starting to rain and push started it, i was wondering if the starter died or what? anyone had this prob before?

 

Possibly a blown fuse? Check out and make sure you didn't blow a fuse. It could be a bad starter if your fuse is blown. If so, you can either get a new one or rebuild it.

 

Yea the fuse might be blown. Clean the connections at the starter, and check the ground wire out really good. My ground wire was partially severed and it was a wonk show for a bit.

 

check the grounds as well.

 

i cleaned all the connections on the starter cheacked the fuses again, i have a 96 spare part car, pulled out the relays, mine were a lil dirty cleaned them switched out the relays and it sounds like the solonoid,silinoid. isnt engauging, will a solonoid work from the 96?

 

Mine did that, when I went to start it all it would do is click. So I bought a new starter fired it in and same problem.then I bought new post clamps, rewired to the post clamps, got them as tight as I could get them (the old dodge ones were permatightened and wouldnt get tighter) and unplugged the ignition harness under the collum jerked aroudn for 4 hours left the car without power. Plugged it all back in and it works fine now.

lol, determined its the solinoid, it wont engauge, even after giving it some "love taps" with a sledge hammer
