How much modding would it take to put a SOHC Magnum in there? What are the advantages/gains?

Besides the engine, you would need a 1st gen crank pulley, a 2nd gen starter, homemade CAI, relocate the battery and a few other things. The magnum engine replaced the DOHC engine and is rated at 150HP, but is a SOHC. There would be no benefit if you already have a DOHC engine.

ORIGINAL: spudsterier

if you really wanted to go the original route....you could always put a dohc in there and then hold onto the sohc.....neons arent like muscle cars....if its not original, it doesnt matter......besides if you rebuild the motor with aftermarket parts, your gonna be just as far away from original as putting in a dohc.....besides a dohc is alot of fun
yea the more and more you guys were saying and the more and more i got to thinking. that i should just do that...put the DOHC till it blows or something and put in the SOHC... and to das... never thought about the SOHC Magnumn... hmmm...
