Default head gasket

well my head gasket is really messed up

we're changing it this weekend
and i'm also putting in my TB and hopefully custom CAI

do you think that the hg being messed up is hurting my horse power?

and when i change my hg is there anything else i will need to change?

thanks in advance

if your hg is messed up good enough then you would have lower compression....which would make it a little less peppy

get a whole head gasket set and change all the gaskets you remove.....
depending on the year you might wanna change the timing belt and tensioner pulley while your at it.....unless you enjoy ripping your motor apart every once and a while

Who doesn't???

Seriously though, if you have close to 100,000 miles on your belt, pump, and tensioner pulley it would be a great time to change those as well.

maybe....i dont have any problems with it as of yet.....and i plan on putting the soon-to-be bored motor in there within a month or two.....ive got 3 tensioner pulleys, 2 new headgaskets, 4 timing belts 2 water pumps, and about half a dozen tensioner pins sittin in crates in the garage........i just dont feel like doin the work...and i hate doin timing.....i would rather rip out a motor and install a new one..or change a tranny out before i wanna mess with the timing
