Alright. I don't see any problems with the mount, it's stiff and doesn't move as I work the tire. I looked at everything attached to the strut and everything seems secure. There's no fluids or failing mounts anywhere. My guess would be the strut.. how difficult are they to do? I'm going to replace all four if I'm going to be under there. Pictures and step by step wouldn't hurt!
Thanks for all your help guys!

Sorry, when I said bounce on the rear, I meant BOUNCE IT like a crazy ape, lol. That sort of simulates your car going over bumps.
Shocks won't make a metal to metal bang/scraping sound unless it's completely empty, but you'll notice that it's going bad before it even gets empty and then it's the rod bottoming out...that's bad and will be noticed while driving at speed on a highway or interstate, because you will hit many small holes and such, even going over speed bumps.
The rubber bushings would be my next look, since they are made to still allow flex but keep metal from contacting each other. If they are worn, they will flatten out and can cause the bang as you hit holes.
During spirited drives around turns or corners, do you hear the noise also? Say, while turning right? Are you bottoming out when you hit bumps?
Check your upper control arms, does it have scrape marks, does the fender well? How about while looking up (with head in wheel well), do you see any signs of suspension components hitting?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'd hate for you to buy new shocks if you don't have to or anything else for that matter.

Alright, I'm going to tear it up this weekend. I'll see what I can find. Thanks.
