Don't get me wrong guys, i love my neon just as much as you guys love yours. Its a damn great car and i know as well as you, you can get them going pretty quick. The only reason i'm posting is to hopefully open a few minds... All the hate is rediculous. We should really all stick together. Its the bad name were given by the media and the ricers we should be fighting.

Myself, i respect anything. I have huge respect for honda. Any Japanese company, especially Honda, is years ahead of the US market. You all know Honda has the most powerful 2.0l engine ever!? Yes the s2k's 2.0l puts out roughly 123hp per liter.

You gotta give respect where respect is due. Now, like i mentioned above... I know neons can be made fast. I don't need to prove that to anybody here. My point is that anything can be fast. It seems to me that there are alot of closed minded people out there. No one in particular here...

i dont actually mind honduh's...i wouldnt mind having a dohc v-tech civic...it would be real nice to make a 10 second car for under $1,000.00

i just dont like the huge ego of most of the people that drive them.....or what people do to them.....its allways the same, CAI, fart can muffler, and lower it....then all of a sudden they think they can beat anything that comes their way....i guess the cars dont really suck, its more or less the people that own them

 

What is the torque? Remember torque moves cars, not HP

There is no lacking here... If you go back and re-read my post you'll see that i mentioned there was no need to post that info. I figured, due to being on a neon forum, there would be no need too. Believe me i can rep neons with the best of them... and i'll be right there to defend them. Like i mentioned, there was no need to defend them.

Yes the s2k makes a measly 160tq... and yes torque gets you going, but hp keeps you going and reving up to 8k and being able to stay in vtec and keep it there really makes that car move. You still can't take away the power that car makes with no turbo.

BTW, i think your missing my point all together... My point was not to compare honda to neon, but to prove even further that anything can be fast. Neons and honda, or anything for that matter. Although i did praise honda on those great motors they build.

i dont understand why some people dont like honda's or honda drivers, i just sold my 95 civic ex for 900, then i bought my 95 neon for 450. i really like my civic, but i never hated neons, i just drive the car becauase i need a car, well the civic i really wanted, but the neon i just got. but this was kinda pointless, but thts my 2 cents

 

My post wasn't so much for you, but to others who may be reading all this. Although it was directed at you. I like Honda's and the INSANE amont of engine swaps at their fingertips.

 

i also like that honda cars are like that

you start off with a D16 and you can end up with a turbo charged K20 without a lot of work


if only we could fit viper engines and stuff in neons that easy...

 

the main reason i rag on my honda friends is because their like
"my car has hella horsepower!"

"well how much torque does it have?"

we have 2.0L and the DOHC gets 150

its the car and its lack of torque
