yes its aluminum too, once i got them to break loose they came right out,
i wouldnt reccomend an amature trying to get them out like that
if theyve been in for a long time and dont have anti-seize on the threads - good luck, might as well pull the head off

 

really you cant hurt the threads with an easy out, the plug is still screwed in, the only way you could tear them up is by hitting the easy out too hard and swelling up the plug then it'll take the threads out with it

 

yeah but even if you messed up the threads you can tap them and put the insert things in there. its obviously never a good thing to have to do that, but i had to do that to my car when i got it because someone else stripped the threads and while i was driving the plug actually blasted its way thru the threads and popped out. i didnt know how well those things worked but it actually has been runnin like a charm for a good 20,000 miles now.
